- Kappa Alpha Psi was Founded on the campus of Indiana University on Jan. 5, 1911.
- We were founded by ten illustrious founders who based their organization on the fundamental purpose of achievement.
- Kappa Alpha Psi is the second-oldest collegiate Greek-letter fraternity with a predominantly African American membership. Since the fraternity's founding in 1911 at Indiana University Bloomington, the fraternity has never limited membership based on color, creed or national origin.
- The fraternity has over 150,000 members with 700 undergraduate and alumni chapters in every state of the United States, and international chapters in the United Kingdom, Germany, Korea, Japan, the Caribbean, Saint Thomas, Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and South Africa.
- The Eta Iota Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi was founded April 14, 1974 on the campus of College of Charleston by ten determined founders as the first black greek organization on the college campus.
