BRITA ERICKSON

Britta Erickson


Britta Erickson is an independent scholar and curator living in Stanford, California, and a widely recognized authority on contemporary Chinese art. She earned a B.A. (1981) and a P.H.D. (1997) in Art History from Stanford University. Her specialty is Contemporary and 20th Century Chinese Art. She has extensive experience as a curator, academic consultant, lecturer, editor, and advisor. She has had several publications on Chinese Art including the recent, The Rise of a Feminist Spirit in Contemporary Chinese Art, ART Asia Pacific, July 2001, and was the guest curator for Word Play Installation Art by Xu Bing at the Sackler Gallery, Washington, D.C. (2001-2002).
