The Installation of P. George Benson as the College of Charleston's 21st president will be on Friday, October 5 at 2:30 p.m. in the Sottile Theatre.

No credentials are necessary to cover the installation ceremony, however, please be aware of the following:

Since this is a formal occasion, we are respectfully making the request that all media be appropriately attired for the ceremony. No jeans, shorts or T-shirts. Khaki slacks and a polo or button-down shirt would be fine. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!

We will be providing live audio AND video feeds from a mult-box. You have the option of shooting your own video while tapping into audio feed or taking the video/audio feed.

A reception will follow at the Cistern yard in front of Randolph Hall. In the event of inclement weather, the reception will be moved to Craig Café.

Thursday, October 4

Faculty Panel
The College of Charleston will be hosting a Faculty Panel at 3:00 p.m. in Physicians Memorial Auditorium.

Dessert Extravaganza
The College of Charleston Student Government Association and Graduate Student Assocition will be hosting a Dessert Extravaganza at 4:00 p.m. on Physicians Promenade.

Meet George on George
George Street in front of Porters Lodge, 6:00 p.m.

Friday, October 5

Installation Ceremony
Doors to the Sottile Theatre will open at 2:00 p.m. The ceremony will begin at 2:30 p.m. and will conclude by about 4:00 p.m.

Reception
Following the ceremony, a reception will be held at the Cistern yard for all faculty, staff, students and guests at the installation. In the event of inclement weather, the reception will be moved to Craig Café. If the location is changed, that information will be posted on the inauguration website at http://www.cofc.edu/inauguration and announced during the installation ceremony.
