F-1 vs. J-1 StatusAny degree seeking student coming to the College of Charleston is eligible for the F-1 visa. To be eligible for the J-1 status visa, you must be admitted to the College under a specific bilateral exchange program. Once you have been admitted to the College of Charleston as a degree seeking student and have satisfied the financial certification requirement, you will be sent an I-20 form for an F-1 visa. Non-degree seeking students from exchange programs will be sent the DS-2019 form for a J-1 student visa. |
