Accessing and managing Student E-mail (WebMail)
Email (WebMail) for Future Students
All CofC applicants who have been accepted to the College of Charleston have a CofC email account that is accessible through WebMail. WebMail is used by the College to contact students with vital information, such as Financial Aid and class registration dates.
Setting up a E-mail (WebMail) Account
Log into Cougar Trail and select the "Set Your Cougars Password" link. This will allow you to find out the email address and change the email password. After changing the password, go to webmail.cofc.edu and log into your account. All students are responsible for maintaining their WebMail accounts.
Accessing Individual Student E-mail (WebMail) Accounts
An account is automatically created for each student when he/she enrolls at the College of Charleston. Before you can access your Edisto account for the first time, you will need to change your password by logging on to Cougar Trail. Once in Cougar Trail, scroll down to the bottom of the screen and click "Set your Cougars Password." Follow the instructions that appear in the pop-up window. If there is no account listed, or if you encounter any problems once you have successfully accessed your account, contact Information Technology at 953-5569.
Filter CofC emails to a "CofC" folder
Filter CofC emails to a "CofC" folder Choose the "Folder Manager" link and "Add New Folder" called "CofC". Then select "Options" and "Filters" to add a filter that moves mail to the CofC folder if the sender contains "cofc.edu". This will automatically sort official College of Charleston correspondences from other mail.
Forward emails to another account
by going to WebMail, a student can also set WebMail to forward emails to another address.
Obtaining Student Organization E-mail Accounts
Student Organizations must fill out an application form to obtain space on the Edisto, the College’s student e-mail/web server. Download the Application for Student Organization Edisto Accounts, or pick one up in the IT office (J.C. Long, Room 322) during normal business hours. Alternatively, you may phone IT at 953-5569 and they will fax a form to you. |
