The Information Technology Department has created standards for hardware. The standards reflect those hardware items that the Classroom Service and Support Center currently maintain. In order to provide the highest quality maintenance for the technology based classrooms, the use of approved hardware is a must. Any use of non-standard hardware can significantly reduce the ability of the Classroom Service and Support Center to provide service. There may even be cases where the use on non-standard hardware may require the service and support to be out sourced.
The standardization of hardware is essential in reducing the complexity of providing service and support. Training is maximized and hot spare equipment costs are minimized.
Hardware Standards are identified in the Equipment Technology Specification Guide and the Service Level Agreements for Classroom Hardware Standards.
