Software Licenses

Information Technology Classroom and Lab Service and Support maintain three types of software licenses: annual recurring, one-time licenses and specialized licenses.

Annual recurring software package licenses (site licenses) are those software applications that are found on every computer in technology based classrooms and labs that must be renewed each year. Some of the software packages are also installed on faculty or staff computers. The purchasing these large or campus wide site license allows the college to realize substantial savings. The software technician in the Classroom Service and Support Center maintains the current list of annual recurring software package licenses for the classrooms and labs.

One-time software package licenses are those software applications that are purchased for just one computer. These software packages are installed on computers in technology based classrooms and labs in support of specific faculty request to support the academic teaching goals. Purchase of one-time software licenses is the responsibility of the associated department.

Specialized software package licenses are those software applications that are typically installed in technology based computer classrooms. These software packages are funded at the academic department level that requires the software for their teaching goals.
