Wireless Classrooms

The Information Technology Department has a Campus Wide Wireless Network that is used to support academic programs. The wireless network allows a variety of device used by faculty, staff and students to connect to the World Wide Web. The IT Network Section has an aggressive program to increase the wireless coverage. They conduct density checks to ensure that classroom utilization is maximized.

Approximately, 97% of the classrooms have wireless connectivity. Several spots on campus have limited wireless connectivity and these dead zones are found in and around the Simons Art Center, Calhoun Annex, Avery, 12 Bull, and MRL. North Campus and Grice Marine Lab do not have a wireless network.

Authentication: Access to the Campus Wide Wireless Network is controlled through an authentication process that secures the system for it users.

  • Faculty will need to call the Helpdesk 953-3375 (option 3) or email helpdesk@cofc.edu to make arrangements to get their laptops configured properly.
  • Students will need to stop by the Student Helpdesk located in the Addlestone Library to get their laptops configured properly.

Issues with wireless connectivity can be directed to the classroom helpdesk at 953-3375 (option 1) or you can email your questions to helpdesk@cofc.edu.
