Enhanced Technology Based Classrooms

The College of Charleston has 148 technology based classrooms that are used in daily instruction to augment teaching and learning. There are 101 “smart” classrooms which form the backbone of our technology based classrooms. These rooms allow the faculty to engage in visual based teaching to enhance student learning. The “smart” classrooms are augmented with 19 computer classrooms that allow students the opportunity to learning software applications. This training environment assists the students in having the tools to enter the job market after they graduate. A variety of other types of technology based classrooms give a rich mixture of technology that faculty have been incorporating into their objectives and course materials. These rooms include 21 Laptop Ready Classrooms, 6 training rooms that are used for teaching and learning. The Fine Arts has a digital photographic classroom which is used to explore the exciting new media of the electronic digital media. The college also has 4 distance learning rooms which allow collaborate learning with other educational institutions.
