FTI Application Requirements
ALL Applicants are required to:
- Complete an application with the following information
- Cover Sheet indicating your choice of computer type if applicable
- Description of current use of technology in your teaching – please be specific, including information on what technology you use as well as how you employ that technology and why.
- List of courses to be taught during upcoming Fall and Spring Semesters
- Brief statement of intent – a description of why you would like to attend the Institute and what you hope to accomplish by attending the Institute. How do you plan to use the knowledge gained during the Institute to enhance your current teaching methodology? This should be a one to two page description.

Deadline: Application MUST be emailed to beatties@cofc.edu no later than Monday, March 31, 2008.You will receive an email acknowledgment that your application was received. If you do not receive this acknowledgment within a week of applying please contact Teaching, Learning & Technology at 3-5569 or Susan Beattie at beatties@cofc.edu.
Participant Commitments
Faculty selected to participate agree to:
- provide information about the age and use of current office computer. It may be necessary to give up the current office computer in exchange for the laptop provided in the Institute.
- submit a pre and post institute skills assessment.
- modify at least one course to include some aspect of technology.
- assist the instructional technologists with an investigation of the effectiveness of technology on enhancing learning by agreeing to collect data and report on some aspect of their use of technology in their lessons.
