Submitting
Midterm and Final Grades via WebCT
If you keep your grades in the WebCT gradebook you
can submit your midterm and final grades directly from WebCT. This is
only beneficial if you use the gradebook within WebCT to store your
grades. If you use an external gradebook (Excel, Micrograde, paper)
then you will still want to use Cougar Trail to submit your grades.
There are a few things to note if you choose to submit
grades via WebCT:
- Grades can only be exported once per student. If a grade needs to be changed it must be done via Cougar
Trail.
- A grade that has been pending for more
than 30 minutes must be exported again.
- If you experience difficulties exporting a grade, check with your
WebCT administrator.
- After you submit you MUST go back into WebCT to verify
that they were received successfully by SIS.
Submitting
grades via WebCT is a two-step process
Step 1. Submit the grade via WebCT to SIS

2. Verify that the grade submission was successful
The second step, in submitting
grades via WebCT, is to verify that the grades were successfully
submitted.
- To verify the submission go into the gradebook
(Control Panel --> Manage
Course --> Manage Students)
- As before select Export
midterm grades or Export final
grades from the Options: Advanced drop-down list, and click Go.
- The
submitted students will now appear in the lower table entitled "List of students with grades that
cannot be exported."
- Look to the Reason
column for verification of the submission.
- Pending:
The name will remain there as pending until the grade has
been successfully received by SIS.
- Success:
The grade for this student has been successfully submitted
to SIS
NOTE: WebCT will try to reach
SIS for 30 min. If it cannot submit the grade during that time
the student will move back to the top table will an error message "Export again due to no response." If you receive this message contact the WebCT Administrator
immediately.
