E-Reserves Information

The College library offers an electronic course reserves system as an option for faculty and students. The library continues to offer the "traditional" reserve service, however, the electronic reserve format allows faculty to make course materials available on the library's web page twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, from any machine that can access the Internet. The main benefits of electronic reserves are:

  • Makes material accessible from anywhere 24/7.
  • Provides one reserve copy that can’t be lost or stolen.
  • Saves a tree.
  • Provides a relatively secure area for sensitive material.
  • Statistical tracking

With electronic reserves, you can provide your students with access to old exams, problem solutions, journal articles, as well as access to syllabi, course notes, web links or anything else which can be digitized (within Fair Use restrictions). This system also allows the instructor to deliver PowerPoint presentations, MSWord documents, Excel spreadsheets, mpeg movies, and almost any other format you can think of. Moreover, the electronic system also provides options including an electronic bulletin board (threaded discussion list) and a chat room for each course. For questions or a demonstration please contact Eres Manager, James Williams or Sheila Seaman at 953-5530.
