Library Sessions

The Library will be offering basic hands-on sessions on Web editing, PowerPoint, and Excel.  These are applications that are used extensively for supporting and enhancing many courses here at the College.  


All classes are held in LIB 113 from 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays and are repeated on Thursdays. Although these sessions are taught using a PC environment, there are Mac versions of all three programs.

Basic Web Editing with Netscape Composer 7.0
Learn how to painlessly create web pages from scratch using this free downloadable software.  No prior web editing experience necessary.

October 15 or 16
Basic PowerPoint 2000
Learn the basics of creating presentations with the most widely used presentation program. No prior PowerPoint experience necessary.
October 22 or 23
Advanced PowerPoint 2000
Learn more advanced features of PowerPoint 2000 such as hyperlinking, word art, 3-D, video insertion, and advanced animations.  Basic knowledge of PowerPoint is necessary to attend this session.
October 29 or 30
MS Excel
Learn the very basics of the Microsoft Excel spreadsheet program .  No prior experience with Excel is necessary.
