The Department of Public Safety provides a comprehensive program of police, security, crime prevention, fire safety, emergency medical, parking, and related public safety services to help ensure that the campus community, including guests at events, enjoys a safe and pleasant environment.

The Department of Public Safety maintains direct contact with the Charleston Police and Fire Departments, assuring prompt assistance and support from those agencies when needed.
