Attention Psychology Majors:
The Psychology Department's Student Awards Committee is now accepting applications for the Bischoff Scholarship Award.
________________________________________________________________________Each year (typically in the spring semester), two or three outstanding students are selected as recipients of the Bischoff Memorial Scholarship. Recipients will each receive a renewable award (typically around $500 per semester) to be applied toward academic expenses (e.g., tuition, textbooks) for Fall 2006 and Spring 2007 semesters. That is, recipients of the Bischoff Scholarship may renew the award for one additional semester, thereby limiting the award to a maximum of two academic semesters. Scholarship recipients must maintain their academic standing (see GPA criteria below) in order to renew the award. Although the award is primarily merit based, financial need is taken into consideration.
Criteria for eligibility:
1. You are a full-time student at the College of Charleston (12 credit hours per semester) and, should you receive the scholarship, you will maintain full-time status throughout the duration of the award.
2. You are a Junior or Senior Psychology Major and you intend to remain a Psychology Major throughout the remainder of your undergraduate career.
3. You have earned (through the Fall 2005 semester) at least 60 credit hours. Of the 60 or more earned credit hours, at least 40 credit hours have been earned at the College of Charleston.
4. You have completed at least 12 credit hours of psychology courses at the College of Charleston.
5. You have a minimum Cumulative GPA of 3.0 and a minimum Psychology GPA of 3.5.
