Helpful Information > Campus S.M.A.R.T.S. > |
- Be a good neighbor. Whether you live in a residence hall or an apartment you are
someone's neighbor and a part of the community.
- Remember the "all or none" theory. The negative actions of a few offensive or
disruptive neighbors many times label the entire College community.
- Awareness of and compliance with the regulations in effect on campus and within the larger
community are essential components in fostering a living/learning environment.
The Honor Code and Code of Conduct are outlined in our Student Handbook
(available at the Student Affairs Office) and questions regarding any city ordinances
should be directed to our Campus Police.
- College students living off campus are reminded that meeting the general concerns of the
community with regard to such issues as noise, parking and trash/recycling pickup are
vital to community harmony. Oftentimes, the College is called to assist in resolving
complaints and, as an integral part of the Charleston community, we are committed to
fostering positive community relations.
- Report any suspicious activity to proper authorities. Awareness and prevention are the best
weapons against criminal activity.
- Both City of Charleston and Campus Police are available to conduct a residence security
survey to alert residents of potential security problems. Those interested in obtaining
this service should contact either agency.
