December 2009 Commencement Information

Time  

10:00 a.m.

Students line up at 8:30 a.m.: undergraduates in the recreation gym in the F. Mitchell Johnson Center. Enter from George Street. Latin honors medallions will be available for pick-up in the gym. Graduate students assemble in the press room of the Carolina First Arena. Enter at the door from Burns Lane by the loading dock. The press room is the first room on the left. Please leave personal items with your family or locked in your car.

Location

Carolina First Arena, College of Charleston. Guests use the main entrance on Meeting Street; doors open at 8:30 a.m. Satellite seating will be available in the McAlister Hospitality Suite, third floor, Carolina First Arena. The ceremony will be broadcast live at the satellite location. Handicapped guests may be dropped off on Meeting Street directly in front of the arena. There is a curb cut at the corner of Burns Lane and Meeting Street just to the right of the arena.

Time

THERE WILL BE TWO CEREMONIES
a.m. - School of the Arts, School of Humanities and Social Sciences and School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs
p.m. - School of Business, School of Education, Health and Human Performance, and School of Sciences and Mathematics

Ceremonies will last 2 1/2 - 3 hours (morning) and 2 - 2 1/2 hours (afternoon). A coat check area will be the only secured location. If possible, do not bring personal items. Personal items you bring should be checked at the secure area. Individuals with handicaps may enter the Cistern Yard from the side entrance on St. Philip Street.
