Baccalaureate Service
Baccalaureate will be held on May 10, 2012 at 6:30 pm in Physician's Auditorium. This is a non-denominational faith-based service for those who wish to attend.

10:00 a.m. - School of
Business, School of Education, Health and Human
Performance, and School of Sciences and Mathematics
Students assemble in Maybank Hall at 8:30 a.m. Gates open at 8:30 a.m.
4:00 p.m. - School of the Arts, School of Humanities and Social Sciences and
School of Languages, Cultures and World Affairs
Students assemble in Maybank Hall at 2:30 p.m. Gates and satellite areas open at 2:30 p.m.
Ceremonies will last 2 - 2 1/2 hours (morning) and 2 1/2 - 3 hours (afternoon). A coat check area will be the only secured location. If possible, do not bring personal items. Personal items you bring should be checked at the secure area.
Guests with Handicaps
Guests with mobility impairments may enter at the St. Philip Street gate without standing in line and may be seated with one other person in the designated handicapped seating area. There will be Public Safety officers outside the gate to assist and to clear the drop-off lane as needed. Everyone who comes into the Cistern Yard must have a ticket. If guests would be more comfortable in an air conditioned space, there are satellite locations nearby where they may view the ceremony live on large screens. Accessible restrooms are in the Simons Center across St. Philip Street. Please direct questions to Judith Steele, 843-953-1431.
Speaker and Honorary Degree Recipient
Arlinda F. Locklear, Esq., an attorney in Washington, DC, has a particularly distinguished career in federal Indian law. She was the first Native American woman to appear in the Supreme Court. Ms. Locklear is a 1973 graduate of the College of Charleston with a degree in Political Science and was the recipient of the Alumni Association's 2009 Distinguished Alumna Award.
Ms. Locklear will be awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters.
