Attire and Flowers

Women wear white dresses and the men wear a summer tuxedo (white jacket and black pants).

The tradition of carrying roses at graduation goes back to at least the 1930s!

Flowers can be ordered from the College Bookstore.

Women traditionally carry bouquets of six red roses tied with a red bow ($21.00); the boutonniere for men is a single red rose ($4.75).

The last day to place an order is:

Online:     Monday, May 6th at 12:00 midnight

In-store or by phone:     Tuesday, May 7th at 5:30 pm

Roses may be picked up immediately prior to lining up for commencement; flowers must be preordered and will not be sold on commencement day.

The bouquets of six red roses tied with a red bow may be purchased elsewhere.

Tuxedos can be rented from David's Tuxedos by visiting any of the David's Tuxedos stores. If you rent a tuxedo from David's, it will be delivered to campus on Thursday, May 9 (during rehearsal) for you to pick up. You will need to return it to one of the stores. Visit their website at for more information on store locations.

David's Tuxedos will be on campus in the Physicians Promenade Wednesday, March 27th, 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM.
