At a Major of the Month Reception on Thursday, March 14, Kelly Clark spoke about her post graduate experience along with Lindsey Gertz. Lindsey did not major in HPCP but took some of the courses in the program and started the Preservation in the Public Schools Program. Lindsey was inspired by our Architectural History courses to get her Masters Degree in Architectural History from UVA.

On Saturday, March 16th, members of the Historic Preservation Club participated in a Habitat for Humanity workday and worked on houses in the upper King Street Area. The club had t-shirts made for the event with original artwork by Prof. Muldrow.

This semester Professor Robert Russell is teaching in the Honors Western Civilization Program and Professor Muldrow is teaching the American Studies Seminar (which counts as a Historic Preservation and Community Planning elective) on the topic of “ Art and Ideas in America.” Both professors were awarded Teacher/Scholar awards from the College last fall.

The program is also proud to announce Professor Muldrow has achieved Tenure and promotion to Associate Professor of Art History and has been granted sabbatical to do research on the Charleston Architect Albert Simons.
