Untitled [gallery] had a new exhibit of student work for the St. Patrick’s Day celebration at Fountain Walk. The “yellow + blue = green” show featured the work of 17 College of Charleston student artists and was juried and curated by Marian Mazzone of the Art History Department. The show is scheduled to run through April 12. Untitled [gallery], located at 360 Concord Street, Suite 105, (next to the IMAX Theater) is open Thursday - Monday 10-4. Exhibits at the gallery are produced by members of the Department of Studio Art Visual Arts Club.

The Visual Arts Club has been pretty prolific in recent weeks.
The Portrait Knockdown was held on Feb. 23 at Untitled [gallery]. The 12-hour marathon of portrait making featured the talents of 14 artists (11 Students and 3 Studio Art instructors). The artists paired off for the first round of portraits at 9 am, and began creating likenesses of each other by drawing, painting or sculpting. Each artists had a limit of 2 1/2 hours to complete the work. A panel of judges (Buff Ross from the Halsey Gallery, Kristen Rhodes from the City Paper, and Natalie Pruner from Tippy Sterns Gallery) chose the best work, and the winner moved on to the next round. After four rounds, senior ARTS majors Max Miller and Darby Long had battled out all contenders, and the championship was awarded to Max Miller. About 150 people attended the opening
