Biographies: Allison Gregory is the Estate Planning Advisor for Wachovia's Wealth Management Group in Charleston. She is a native of North Carolina who received her undergraduate degree from Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. She earned her J.D. from Campbell University in North Carolina.

Alice L. Patrick has been an appraiser in Charleston since 1970, and she established Alice L. Patrick, Inc. in 1980. She has attended the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts' courses in Southern History and Southern Material Culture, the Attingham Summer School, and comparable programs. Ms. Patrick is a member of the Appraisers Association of America, an organization from which she has a certificate for her work with silver. She has published History of Games and Gaming Tables, 1700 - 1825, Silver Sauce Boats from the Chesapeake, 1725 - 1825, and Judge Richard Potts House, 1790, Frederick, Maryland. Her lectures have focused on the decorative arts in Charleston, Charleston furniture, and classical silver from Savannah.

Synopsis: This session will be a comprehensive discussion of how a collector of antiques can preserve and protect his or her property through strategic estate planning. The manner in which prized antiques and art objects will be valued in an estate will be addressed. Other topics will be family inheritance of heirlooms, museum donations, and estate and gift taxation.

Synopsis: This session will focus on ways in which collectors can preserve and protect their property through strategic estate planning. The valuation of prized antiques and art objects for estates will be addressed, as will inheritance issues, donations, and taxation. The role of the appraiser will be a prominent part of the session.
