Greetings from the Division of Student Affairs at the College of Charleston. I appreciate your interest in finding out more about who we are and our role here on campus.
One of the most difficult parts of my duty as the Senior Vice President for the division is explaining what we do in Student Affairs. I once heard an explanation that seems to make it easier for some: We are the professionals that are charged with the responsibility of taking care of our thousands of students during the 150+ hours a week when they are not in class. Obviously, this is an enormous undertaking, but our love and dedication to students makes the challenges somewhat easier.
Within Student Affairs, we take seriously from day one our role in the development of our students. The College of Charleston offers students a variety of ways to grow as a person, and we like being a part of that growth. A myriad of programs and services assist us in reaching many goals in our daily work for and with students. We deal with students socially, psychologically, spiritually, physically, and in so many other ways. It is through our collective efforts, both student and professional, that our desired outcome of student development happens.
Whether a potential student, current student, parent, or friend of the College, we stand ready to assist you as needed. Again, thanks for your interest in our division, and let me know if we can ever assist you in any way.
Be well,
Victor K. Wilson
