The Sculpture area is one of the finest in the Southeast. Within the spacious studio, students explore art in a contemporary vein while working with a variety of media, tools, and equipment. Professor Herb Parker, renown for his site specific installations, leads the area. Faculty encourage students to experiment with alternative methods and materials. The high bay main studio supports metal fabrication with MIG, TIG, stick and plasma ARC machines. There is also a fully equipped wood shop. The full foundry program includes metal casting in bronze, aluminum, and iron. Advanced sculpture students have individual work spaces on the mezzanine.
