Gretchen McLaine

 

Gretchen Schroeder McLaine has performed, taught and choreographed for several regional ballet and modern dance programs throughout the southeastern United States and the D.C. area. Gretchen received her BA in Dance from Winthrop University, her MA in Dance from American University, holds a certification in Labanotation and is an ACE-certified personal trainer.  Mrs. McLaine, who has previously taught at American University, the University of Oklahoma, and DeSales University, recently joined the faculty at the College of Charleston, where she is an Assistant Professor. She has presented her original research at the Performing Arts Medical Association Annual Symposium (2000), and the National Dance Education Organization’s conference (2000, 2005, 2006). Mrs. McLaine is currently completing her Ph.D. in Human Development/Instructional Leadership at Marywood University, researching dance education.  She is also a member of NDEO and the CORPS de Ballet International.
