Dr. Anna Krauth Ballinger
Professor Krauth Ballinger received her MA and Ph.D. from
Paris-Sorbonne. Her specialty is XIXth-century French Literature with a focus on travel writing. She holds a BA in French Literature, as well as a BA in Anglophone Studies from
Paris-III Sorbonne and is an alumni of
Lycée Victor Duruy in Paris. Dr. Krauth Ballinger has been teaching at the
College of Charleston since 1992. In 1998 she organized the College of Charleston
French Film Festival which has become an annual event. She was awarded in 2004 the
Palmes Académiques by the French Government for her work in promoting French language and culture abroad.
