Below are examples of appropriate attire
for the following dress codes:
Casual
Casual dress is generally any attire appropriate
for class and will only be worn to informal BAP events where only
members are present and no other dress code is specified.

Business Casual
Business casual is more formal than casual dress
and may be appropriate for some job and career fairs, employer
information sessions, and any event where stated in flyers or announcements.
When in doubt, ask the host or sponsor about appropriate event
attire.
- Slacks, pants, and suit pants
Slacks that are similar
to Dockers and other makers of cotton or synthetic material pants,
wool pants, flannel pants, and nice looking dress synthetic pants
are acceptable. Inappropriate slacks or pants include jeans,
sweatpants, exercise pants, short shorts, shorts, Bermuda shorts,
bib overalls, leggings, and any spandex or other form-fitting
pants such as bike clothing.
- Skirts, dresses, and skirted suits
Casual dresses and
skirts, and skirts that are split at or below the knee are acceptable.
Dress and skirt length should be no shorter than four inches
above the knee, or a length at which you can sit comfortably
in public. Short, tight skirts that ride halfway up the thigh
are inappropriate. Mini-skirts, skorts, sun dresses, beach dresses,
and spaghetti-strap dresses are also inappropriate.
- Shirts, tops, blouses, and jackets
Casual shirts, golf
shirts, dress shirts, sweaters, tops, and turtlenecks are acceptable.
Most suit jackets or sport jackets are also acceptable attire.
Inappropriate attire includes tank tops; sweatshirts; midriff tops,
shirts with potentially offensive words, terms, logos, pictures,
cartoons, or slogans; halter-tops; tops with bare shoulders; and
t-shirts unless worn under another blouse, shirt, jacket, or jumper.
- Shoes and footwear
Loafers, boots, flats, clogs, conservative
athletic shoes, sneakers, dress heels, and leather deck shoes are
acceptable. Wearing no stockings is acceptable if the look is appropriate
to the outfit. Flashy athletic shoes, thongs, flip-flops, slippers,
and any shoe with an open toe are not acceptable.
- Hats and head covering
Hats are not appropriate. Head Covers
that are required for religious purposes or to honor cultural tradition
are allowed.

Professional
Professional is more formal than business casual and
most commonly worn in recruiting situations and interviews.
Women's attire:
- A suit in a dark color like black, gray, or navy. Solid
or fine pinstripe. Skirt suits should be no shorter than two
inches above the knee.
o For BAP meetings, suits can be in colors other than black, gray or navy.
- Blouse or dress shirt.
- Mid-heel, closed-toe dress shoes, and hose.
o For BAP meetings, open-toe shoes are fine and hose are optional.
- Minimal jewelry, perfume, and makeup.
Men's attire:
- A suit in a dark color like black, gray, or navy. Solid
or pinstripe.
o For BAP meetings, a coat or blazer combined with slacks of a different, but complementary color can be worn in place of a suit…BUT you must wear suits to your interviews.
- Long-sleeved, button-down shirt and a tie.
- Black or dark brown dress shoes with dark socks that
complement your suit.
- Minimal jewelry and cologne.
