What does it take to be a member
of Beta Alpha Psi?
Grades, commitment and interest.
- GRADES: You must have a 3.0 cumulative
GPA and a 3.0 GPA in ACCT classes. If you fall below that
because of a “bad freshman year”, there are exceptions
made if your recent academic performance (last 30 credits)
has yielded a GPA of 3.25 or better. Once you join Beta Alpha
Psi, you must keep your grades at the 3.0 cumulative level
or you will lose your membership.
- COMMITMENT: You are expected to attend at least 75% of meetings each semester. Meetings will take place on Thursday nights at 5:30. There will be 8 or so meetings each semester. Also, we WILL have community service projects that we will do as an organization. There will be enough options so that members can do things that suit them (i.e., collecting canned goods for shelters, reading with kids, Habitat for Humanity, Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, etc.). Each candidate is expected to do at least 3 hours of service during the year (2 semesters) before he or she gets invited into the membership.
- INTEREST: The idea behind Beta Alpha Psi
is not for it to be “fun, fun, fun.” The idea
is for it to be a way that YOU find out about life after
college. Now, I think we can have a good time doing that,
BUT the top priority of Beta Alpha Psi is to help students
get closer to getting the job they want.
