For all degrees, at least 12 hours of courses
beyond Biology 111/111L, 112/112L must be taken at the College of

BIOLOGY MAJOR REQUIREMENTS
Biology Major Minimum Requirements for All Degrees:
- 100-Level Courses: Biology 111/111L, 112/112L
- 200-Level Courses: Biology 211/211L, 212 (212L optional, except
for the B.S. with concentration in Molecular Biology)
For all major degrees, at least fifteen (15) hours of courses beyond Biology 111/111L, 112/112L must be taken at the College of Charleston.

Total Biology Hours Required = 34 (100 level- 8 hrs.; 200 level – 7-8 hrs.; 300 level of above 19-20 hrs.)

To complete the BS degree with an emphasis in teaching, students must successfully complete the minor
in Secondary Biology Education.

For the minor, at least nine (9) hours of Biology beyond 111/111L, 112/112L must be taken at the College of Charleston.
