| The Department of Labor
updated the Fair Labor Standards Act effective August 23, 2004,
through the Fair Pay Ruling. This ruling insured that employees
were being paid at or above state/Federal minimum wage and that
employees were also being paid for the actual number of hours
being worked.
To insure that Graduate Assistants are being paid for their
total number of allowable hours/semester (240-340), they are
now required to complete an internal timesheet issued by the
College of Charleston for each week worked. These timesheets
are to be retained in the employing department and not submitted
to the Payroll Office.
The student employee is responsible for entering all information
on this timesheet.
