Section Eight: Application and Interview Process

Subject: Applications
Policy #8.1
<-- Section 7.2

Due to the competitive nature of finding an on-campus position, many departments have elected to use an application form. This allows the department to ask specific questions relating to the job such as work experience, times available, references, etc.

Departments choosing to utilize this form should make them available at the reception area for students to complete. It is at the discretion at the department as to whether or not you will accept applications when there are no available job opportunities.

All employing departments are encouraged to use some form of application for record keeping and informational purposes. All applications received in your office are to be kept on file for at least three years regardless of who was hired for employment. Those students offered positions within your department are to have their applications placed in their employment file kept with their supervisor.

The Career Center offers a generic College of Charleston Student Employment application form available to employers through our web site or by calling the office directly.
