Job Search Resources

All of the following resources are available to College of Charleston Alumni at no cost:

  • Access to CISTERNonline, a web based system allowing you to search for and view jobs and publish your resume to a Web Resume Book within the system to be viewable by participating employers. To request an account in CISTERNonline, contact our office.
  • Career Fairs. A campus wide Career & Graduate School Expo is held each fall, and FutureQuest is held each spring in conjunction with The Citadel and Charleston Southern University. Education Career Fairs are held in the fall and spring semesters to connect students/alumni with participating school districts. Alumni who wish to attend our Career Fairs as job seekers do NOT have to pre-register. Please do check our home page for specific details about the Career Fairs, and view the list of participants in order to be aware of the organizations scheduled to attend and the types of positions for which they are recruiting. This information is updated often prior to each fair.
  • On-campus interviews. Interview opportunities are available for alumni who have graduated in the immediate past semester. In some instances, alumni other than recent graduates may be eligible to participate in on-campus interviews if slots are available. These situations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
  • Credential files. This service is available for alumni who wish to maintain official documents, such as letters of reference or college transcripts, on file. These files would be sent to potential employers or graduate schools upon your request.
  • Individual appointments for resume advice/critiques, discussion of job search strategies, or any related concerns.
  • The Career Resource Center. The Career Centers' resources contain information regarding resume and job search correspondence, salaries, employment trends, job/employer information, and much more.
  • Videotaped practice interviews. Appointments may be scheduled in order for you to sharpen your interview skills.
  • Internet Resources.
