Better to be prepared than learn the hard way:
- Be aware of your time and the time of the Career Mentor. Do not try to contact too many at the same time.
- Do not forget to follow-up with the Career Mentor, foster the professional relationship, and not let valuable information and advice slip through the cracks.
- Make sure your email address, contact information, and out-going telephone message have a professional tone.
- Respect the Career Mentor’s time and remember they are professionals with busy schedules. They are excited to assist you and answer your questions during a mutually convenient time.
- Contact the Career Center to help search for Career Mentors or prepare
for an informational interview.
