Use these questions when interviewing potential student employees.
The * indicates questions that are behavior based.

How would you describe yourself?  How would a professor/supervisor describe you? Do you like your present position?  Why or why not?
How has your college experience prepared you for your career? *What positive qualities have you displayed in your present position?
Why should I hire you? *What were some of the shortcomings you exhibited in your last position?
How do you determine/mesaure success? What major strengths do you possess?  Weaknesses?
Describe the relationship that should exist between a supervisor and the people who work for him/her. Have you ever had any supervisory experience (either professionally or in school?
If you were hiring for this position, what qualities would you look for? *Give me an example where you had difficulty communicating with someone and how you resolved it.
Why did you choose this career field? *Give me an example of a situation where you had conflicting deadlines to meet and how you resolve the conflict.
How do you work under pressure? *Give me an example of a decision you made that benefited your employer.
Describe the ideal job. How would your most recent supervisor describe you?
What do you know about our organization and why did you seek employment here? How would your co-workers evaluate you?
*What major problem have you encountered and how did you deal with it? What motivates you?
What salary are you expecting? What, do you believe, motivates others?
What two accomplishments have given you the most satisfaction and why? What professional organizations/associations do you belong to?
Why did you choose to apply with our company? What campus clubs do you belong to?
Tell me about yourself. Have you ever done any volunteer work?
What are your career goals? What award/honor have you received that you're most proud of?
Where do you expect to be in your career within five years?  Ten years? Have you ever written any articles for a professional journal, magazine, newspaper?  When?  What were they about?
What future training do you plan in conjunction with your career goals? What do you do in your spare time?
What do you know about the position for which you're interviewing today? Do you know about other countries and cultures?  If so, which ones?
What makes you qualified for this job?  
What have you contributed to your past employers that saved the company time, money, or enhanced its image?  
What did you learn in your last position?
