About Us

The College of Charleston Emergency Medical Service exists for the purpose of providing basic level emergency medical care, without charge, to the College of Charleston students, faculty, staff, and community.

The College of Charleston EMS was founded in 1995 by a lone EMT working from his personal vehicle. Since then the organization has experienced great change to become the organization it is today. The College of Charleston EMS currently has a volunteer staff of almost 40 members and is continually striving to recruit more dedicated individuals.

In addition to providing medical care, the College of Charleston EMS is also involved in several campus initiatives, including being heavily involved in the placement of automated external defibrillators (AED's) throughout the campus.

New CPR and First Aid Course Dates
The College of Charleston has recently updated our course of calendars for CPR, First Aid, and AED courses. Please email EMS-CPR@cofc.edu with your name, phone number, and the course you would like to attend.
