The Department of
International and
Intercultural Studies houses the inter- and
multi-disciplinary area, international and cultural studies programs, as
well as critical languages in
the School of Laguages, Cultures and World Affairs. It is the hub
of the
international effort of the School.
The Department's programs emphasize learning across disciplines.
Many departments in most schools of the College offer courses in its
programs. International and Intercultural Studies programs offer
many Semester or Summer study abroad programs and are developing
international interships.
In the near
future, the Department expects to offer a B.A. in International Studies
with area concentrations in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America and
the Caribbean, as well as Comparative Literature and Languages and
International Business. The Departments also intends to expand
offerings in Critical Languages leading to the establishment of minors.
