| The College of Charleson acts as a microcosm for the city of Charleston, and reducing the greenhouse gas emissions of the college could be an exemplary model for the city. During the first portion of this research project, a greenhouse gas assesment, funded by the Sustainable Universities Initiative of South Carolina, was performed from June through November of 2002. This project was inspired by a student/faculty trip to the College Climate Response workshop in Portland, Oregon during February of 2002. The primary purpose of this assesment was to better understand the sources of greenhouse gas emissions on the College of Charleston campus. The results of the assesment will be used to suggest alternative policies to decrease campus emissions. | |||||||
