Potential New Members
What is "Rush"?
The process for joining a Greek organization is called "Recruitment" or "Intake,"
but oftentimes you will hear your friends and parents refer to it as "Rush."
The Recruitment/Intake process varies from campus to campus. This year, women interested in joining a National Panhellenic Sorority will participate in Formal Recruitment spanning over the first two weekends of school. The application deadline is August 27 at noon. |

Our men's Inter-fraternity chapters are having "structured" recruitment during the first few weeks of school. There is a mandatory informational meeting on August 27 for all men interested in joining an IFC chapter. Our NPHC groups hold membership intake at various times during the year depending on the specific organization. |
Joining a fraternity or sorority requires making an educated decision about joining an organization that offers lifetime membership. As you begin your research about Greek membership, you should familiarize your self with the Greek Glossary. We also encourage you to utilize the national website as an additional resource for researching membership within our Greek community. |
