Safety at the Grice Marine Laboratory
Safety training at Grice Marine Lab is required for all personnel working in the laboratories or aquarium room. It must be scheduled with the laboratory manager prior to starting work at the lab. Practicing Science Safely
- Know what the risks are before you start work
- Read Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)
- Minimize the risks as much as possible
- Use Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Follow prudent practices
- Reassess risks regularly
- Red emergency posters will offer guidance in the case of an accident

- Always wear proper PPE based on current procedure
- Always assess risk before you start or change a procedure
- Know what to do in case of an emergency
