Description
The course, Archaeology, is designed as a mid level course exploring the methods within the discipline. The student will have the unique opportunity to work in small groups with instructor supervision and learn archaeological methodology through direct work with real data and archaeological materials. The course involves a series of lectures and readings, coupled with laboratories that involve hands-on gathering and interpretation of archaeological data. The student will be introduced to the key analytical methods archaeologists use to make interpretations of the past including mapping, lithic analysis, microscopic functional analysis, ceramic analysis, faunal analysis and methods in environmental reconstruction.

Library Assignment
Due: Last Day of Class - December 3

Attendance Policy
Attendance is critical in this course.  If you miss class it is your responsibility to get the notes from a classmate.  More than 4 absences will result in lowering of the final grade by one letter grade.
