ADVISING Information:
Prior to each term make an appointment with your History advisor. During the advising session the two of you should work together to review your progress towards graduation and complete the Advising Hold Removal Form so that you are able to register.
One of your goals as a History major should be to become a "real person" to your advisor and other members of the Department, not just a name on the class roll . Although each major is assigned a specific advisor, we like to feel that the entire department serves in an advisory capacity to all majors.
Degree Worksheets are documents that detail graduation requirements by major. These worksheets are a tool you can use in planning out your academic career, by checking off those classes that are complete and noting the classes that remain to be completed. Students can keep track of how far they have come at the College and what they need to do to complete their course work for graduation.
History 100-499, including either 101 and 102 OR 103 and 104 when not used to fulfill the 6-hour general education requirement in historycan be used as general education requirements.
Navigator Worksheets are 4-year plans for each degree track. These are suggested course tracks that can be used to facilitate academic planning. However, students are in no way restricted to taking only the suggested courses, or to completing the course work within 4 academic years.
