Independent Study/Tutorial

All Honors students must complete a 3-credit hour Independent Study or Tutorial in order to graduate from the Honors College. The Independent Study is usually done in the Junior year. Most students do the Independent Study in their major or minor but it can also been enrolled in as an Honors Independent Study. An Independent Study or Tutorial done in the major or minor or in Honors satisfies the Honors College Independent Study requirement. Most departments have a special course number used to enroll the student in an Independent Study (for example, ENGL 399).
