Student OpportunitiesChrestomathyChrestomathy, the College of Charleston's journal for outstanding undergraduate research in the humanities and social sciences, publishes an
issue highlighting the latest of the College's outstanding undergraduate research in the humanities and social sciences. This project offers
SHSS students even more opportunities to gain valuable insight and experience in various fields of study while working closely with members
of the faculty.
Internship ProgramThe goal of the Internship Program is to initiate internship opportunities that provide students with a coherent and
cohesive program of integrated learning experiences to support their academic, social, and personal development while attending the College of
Charleston and studying within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Languages, Cultures, and World Affairs.
Undergraduate Academic ServicesThe Undergraduate Academic Services office handles functions and offices related to the academic well-being of the
College's undergraduate student population. The probation system and various other matters related to academic regulations, established by the
College's faculty, are coordinated through this office.
Undergraduate Research and Creative ActivitiesThe value of undergraduate participation in professional activities within an academic discipline is now widely
accepted as a focal point of a quality liberal arts education. It has even been noted that such opportunities a college offers might be the
single best measure of the overall quality of a college or university undergraduate program. Although debatable, the participation by a
student in a challenging and meaningful undergraduate research or creative activity experiences can be the single most important experience
that student will have in college. Many people have realized their career ambition and potential as a result of such an experience.
