Dear Interested Student,
Do you have a problem solving agenda? Do you fancy yourself completing an internship abroad in, say, London with the British Broadcasting Corporation? How about interning with a local charity organization iin Galway, Ireland? Perhaps you would like to learn first hand about the British Golf Museum in St. Andrews, Scotland, the "Home of Golf." Special programs are available through the Internship Program Office for students of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences as well as the School of Languages, Cultures, and World Affairs. The United Kingdom Consortium of International Internships includes universities in England, Ireland, and Scotland. At each university, specific, world renowned programs are sought out to provide incoming College of Charleston students a specific, major related in-class and out-of-class experience. Link to the universities on the left of this page to learn more about their academics, student life, and the surrounding area. Additional countries and opportunities in other areas of the world will be pursued in the near future. Expansion efforts will include Mexico, Canada, France, and Latin America. The Student Project Grant Initiative is a self-funded program through the Internship Program Office that rewards students of both schools (Humanities and Social Sciences; Languages, Cultures, and World Affairs) for their ability to suggest, research, and report on a project that impacts their department, the College of Charleston, or within the Tri-County area. This program is available for students who are declared majors in departments of the two schools; it is also available for those individuals who are delared minors in the two schools. Link to the program requirements on the left of this page. Out-of-class experiences form a major part of the personal and social development of the student college experience. Congratulations in recognizing this fact and please drop by my office as your interest grows. Together we plan an exciting and educational experience that you can talk about for years.
