Dear Site Sponsor,
It is with great appreciation, support, and admiration that I write this note of thanks. Without your generous donation of time, space, and, above all, an educational experience, our students would not have an opportunity to enjoy an out-of-class learning experience. As the College of Charleston strives to provide an outstanding in-class, campus learning experience, it also desires to provide students the chance to take the skills they have developed through their coursework and apply them in real-life working situations. Through this, then, students become more informed about their major and career choice as well as begin to "professionalize" their learning. During the internship process, students are assessed by College of Charleston officials, required to complete journals, and complete a final reflection paper that discusses their experiences during the internship. As a site sponsor, we will ask you to complete a final assessment of the student. A short form found in the Site Sponsor's Guidelines as well as linked to from this page, this document provides substantial evidence that allows the faculty member to assign a grade for the internship experience. Obviously, this information is necessary to provide a truthful and honest assessment of the student's abilities, work progress, and demeanor. The College of Charleston greatly appreciates your involvement in this process. In working toward successfully initiating an outstanding internship opportunity that is mutually beneficial to the site sponsor and the student, it is my office's role to support all individuals involved. Please do not hesitate to contact me via phone or email if there is something that I can help you with. Once again, thank you for your continued support of the internship program within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the School of Languages, Cultures, and World Affairs.
Cheers. Bruce Fleming |
