Uptake, localization and photodynamic efficiency of Photofrin and Merocyanine 540 in A549 Lung Cancer Cells
Aubrey and Jessica compared the photodynamic effect of two different photosensitizers in the inactivation of lung cancer cells. Photofrin localizes in the mitochondria while merocyanine 540 localizes in lysosomes. Photoinactivation was determined with clonal assays.
