Michael Stevens and Holly Munnis

Four College of Charleston Biophysics students, all of whom graduated in December 1999, presented research posters at the Society of Physics Students poster session at the Southeast Section of the American Physical Society meeting in Chapel Hill. Mike (History major) and Holly (Psychology major) presented their results for an action spectrum of light-enhanced dye uptake. Their study has raised several intriguing questions regarding cellular receptors. Dr. Karl Karnaky from MUSC is helping us design some experiments involving membrane transport proteins to follow up on this work.

Michael is now in medical school in Virginia. Holly has a BS in psychology.
