Readings are from the Brockett history text (B), and from Vena and Nouryeh's Drama and Performance: An Anthology. (See weeks 11, 13 and 14 for exceptions.)

In the Brockett text: he has divided all his chapters into sections, each headed with a title in bold type. The first page number of a
reading assignment refers to the section that begins on that page. You don't need to read anything left over from sections that
started on previous pages. The last number refers to the end of the section that ends on that page. If a new section begins but does
not end on that page you don't need to read it.

For the plays: read the accompanying Introductions, except the sections subtitled ". . . -in-Performance" and "Reflections on . ." You can skip those.
