The business administration major
offers students an opportunity to
prepare for careers in today’s challenging world of business by delivering
a comprehensive program of academics,
technology, and leadership. A diverse business
core and a variety of electives constitute an
accredited curriculum which is based on the
liberal arts and sciences foundation for which
the College of Charleston is so well known. |
| |
Marketing is the process of planning and executing the conception,
pricing, promotion, and distribution of ideas, goods and services to
create exchanges that satisfy individual and organizational goals (American Marketing Association). |
| |
Supply Chain Management is the design and management of seamless, value-added processes across organizational boundaries to meet the real needs of the end customer (Institute of Supply Management). |
| |
We also offer several interdisciplinary minors combining various business courses with other disciplines across campus at the College of Charleston. Students who major outside of the School of Business and Economics often choose to complete a minor in Business Administration to better prepare them for their chosen career field. |
| |
| Our faculty is as diverse as the courses they teach. We represent fields such as Glogal Logistics and Transportation, International Business, Management Information Systems, Purchasing and Supply Chain Management, Business Statistics, Production/Operations, Advertising and Public Relations, among others. |
| |
| We pride ourselves in our teaching orientation and our strong career base combining doctorates in various areas of business from around the world as well as active professional development. |
| |
| As with other courses at the College of Charleston, our class size is relatively small, providing the opportunity for students and professors to become better acquainted. Faculty are available for career advising as well as academic assistance outside of the classroom. |
| |
| Students will also find the importance of technology reflected across our program offerings. If you would like to learn more about our department, its faculty, course and program offerings, please call or e-mail the department chair at the numbers provided. |
