Student Parking
Students who require parking must apply for parking in advance each semester. Parking applications will be available as listed below:
SUMMER 2009: This year, we will not have an application period in advance of the Summer terms. All permits will be sold at the Parking Services office beginning on Thursday May 7, 2009 (date subject to change). Please see below for further details about purchasing Summer permits, in the section titled AVAILABLE PARKING & FEES – MAYMESTER AND SUMMER I AND II.
FALL 2009: Applications will be available online via Cougar Trail from April 13, 2009 through June 8, 2009. Early registration is for returning students only; transfer students and non-resident Freshmen will be able to purchase permits at our first-come, first-serve sale on Friday August 21, 2009. We will send out an email reminder to all students, including the online application instructions, prior to 4/13/09. (All dates are subject to change.)
*Please note: if you are currently a resident Freshman student and do not have at least 30 cumulative credit hours, you will not be able to apply for parking until your grades have posted (posting date is 5/12/09). As soon as your account has updated and Cougar Trail is showing that you have 30 or more hours, you will be able to apply for parking.

Students will be reminded of application availability dates via College email to Edisto e-mail addresses. Applications are available on Cougar Trail, but only during the application availability timeframe listed above.
After the student assignments are emailed, students may pay for their permits through Cougar Trail, by selecting Power Park from the column titled College. Payments must be made by the payment deadline, or the assignment will be forfeited.
Available permits/garage cards will be sold on a first-come, first-serve basis to students who miss the application deadline date beginning on the date listed below:
Fall 2009 first-come, first-serve is Friday August 21, 2009.
A photo ID and vehicle registration must be presented at time of purchase.
Student permits are valid in all student surface lots after 3:00 PM Monday through Friday and all day on weekends.
STUDENT ELIGIBILITY
Students will be assigned parking based on the number of cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made. In the event of identical credit hours earned, applications first received will have priority.
Students living on campus who have fewer than thirty (30) cumulative credit hours earned and on file with the Office of the Registrar at the time that assignments are made are not eligible to apply for College parking.
Eligible resident students living in a Bull Street house or an odd-numbered Coming Street house may request on-street residential parking (CR).
ALTERNATE PARKING
If you are interested in securing parking through a source not affiliated with the College of Charleston, please click here for a listing of alternative parking spaces leased to students.
ACCESSIBLE PARKING
Students who require accessible parking should complete an accessible parking permit application each semester in the Parking Services Office. Please see the section regarding Accessible Parking for more information.
