Jennifer Baker is a graduate of Brown University (B.A. in Philosophy and PoliticalScience, 1995) and the University of Arizona (Ph.D., 2003). Her research is on virtue ethics, and she looks to ancient ethical theories as positive examples of how ethics ought to be done today. Papers in progress include "Who's Afraid of a Final End," "Why Philosophers Ought to Care about Business Ethics," and "Why Political Theory Needs Ethical Theory." In 2003-2004, she organized the Workshop on Capitalism and morality hosted by UNC-Chapel Hill. In summer 2005, she will be a visiting scholar at Bowling Green State University's Social Philosophy and Policy Center. She teaches courses on environmental ethics, business ethics, medical ethics, ancient philosophy, and most recently, American philosophy. Works in Progress: "Who's Afraid of a Final End?"
